I've been with Fortinet for almost 5 years now, in a sales engineer role, and honestly, I'm starting to get a bad feeling. The recent hiring slowdown, combined with some whispers I've heard from people in finance, has me worried. It feels like we're tightening our belts in preparation for something. Anyone else noticing similar signs in their departments? I'm trying not to panic, but the lack of transparency is making me anxious. Is it just the usual pre-earnings jitters, or is there something more substantial brewing?

Yeah, I'm in a similar boat. Been here a bit longer, in support. I've seen this movie before at other companies. The belt-tightening is usually a pretty reliable indicator. Start polishing your resume and discreetly reaching out to your network. Better to be prepared than caught off guard. Good luck!

Honestly, I think you're reading too much into it. Every company slows hiring at times. Fortinet's been on a huge growth spurt, so a little consolidation is normal. Focus on your work, hit your targets, and try not to let the rumors get to you. Panicking won't help anything.
