Yeah, I've noticed a similar shift in tone from management lately. The "strategic objectives" thing is definitely a buzzword bingo. It's hard to say what it means, but usually it preceeds some kind of org change or restructuring. Keep your resume updated and maybe discreetly reach out to your network. It's better to be prepared than caught off guard. Good luck!
Honestly, this happens every quarter end. Sales always gets a little tense. Everyone is chasing deals and management is breathing down necks. I wouldn't read too much into it unless the silence persists *after* the quarter closes. Maybe your skip-level just had a rough week. Try to relax, focus on your work, and reassess in a couple of weeks. Stressing about it won't change anything.
