Fortinet - Feeling the pinch? Seeing budget tighten up everywhere

Hey everyone. Been at Fortinet for a few years now, and lately things have felt… different. Especially over the last couple of quarters. Budgets seem a lot tighter than they used to be. I'm hearing about smaller team offsites, fewer new hires being approved, and even some projects getting put on the back burner with "resource constraints" as the reason. It's not just my department either, seems like a company-wide thing. Anyone else in other teams or regions seeing this? Just trying to gauge if this is a broad trend or if I'm just in a particularly dry spot. Curious if this is a precursor to something bigger, or just a normal cyclical thing. Trying not to spiral, but it's hard not to notice the shift.

Yeah, I've definitely noticed a shift too, at least from my perspective. It feels like the free-wheeling days are over, and every dollar is being scrutinized much more closely now. It's understandable given the current economic climate, but it does make it harder to get things done or plan for the future with the same level of confidence we once had. Hopefully, this is just a temporary phase and things will loosen up again soon.

This post resonates. I'm in a different division, but the vibe is definitely more conservative. Project funding requests are getting more scrutiny, and there's a general air of caution around new initiatives. It's not doom and gloom, but the 'growth at all costs' mentality seems to have been replaced by a focus on efficiency and profitability. Good to know I'm not the only one sensing this change across the company.
