Fortinet - Q4 'quiet layoffs' or just bad performance reviews?

Hey everyone. Been at Fortinet for a few years now, and things feel... off. Didn't see any big WARN notices or company-wide announcements, but lately it feels like there's a consistent trickle of people leaving or being managed out. Some teams have lost key members without obvious replacements, and the chatter in the break rooms (or Slack channels, let's be real) is about performance improvement plans being handed out more liberally than before. Is anyone else seeing this on their teams? Trying to figure out if it's a genuine restructuring, or if leadership is just trying to trim the fat quietly before the new year. Feels like a lot of uncertainty and some genuine good people are getting the short end of the stick. Hard to stay motivated when you're constantly looking over your shoulder or wondering if your project is going to be canceled because someone on your team just disappeared. Anyone have intel or similar experiences across different departments?

Yeah, I've definitely noticed a shift. It's not just your team. We've had several senior engineers depart over the last quarter, and the official word is always 'pursuing other opportunities.' But the timing, coupled with some pretty aggressive PIPs popping up across different departments, makes you wonder. It feels less like a structured layoff and more like a slow bleed, which is arguably more stressful for those left behind. Hoping for some clarity soon, but I'm not holding my breath.

Interesting to hear others are feeling this too. My department has seen a few unexpected exits lately, and the vibe is definitely tense. People are polishing resumes more diligently, and the informal network is buzzing with speculation. It’s hard to ignore the pattern when multiple teams are experiencing similar situations without any official communication about restructuring. This quiet management of headcount is creating a lot of anxiety and uncertainty for many of us trying to stay focused on our work.
