Fortive: Vague communication about 'strategic realignment'

Been with Fortive for a few years now, and lately, the vibe has been… off. Management keeps talking about 'strategic realignment' and 'optimizing our portfolio.' Sounds corporate and all, but it's creating a lot of anxiety. We haven't had any direct layoffs announced, but there's definitely a chill in the air. Some teams are consolidating, and there's been a noticeable slowdown in hiring for certain roles. I've heard whispers from colleagues in other divisions about people being 'offboarded' quietly, not through official layoff announcements. Anyone else picking up on this? It feels like something is brewing, and the lack of transparency is the worst part. Just want to know what's actually going on.

I feel this. The 'strategic realignment' buzzwords are definitely making things tense. It's hard to stay motivated when you don't know what the long-term plan really looks like or how it impacts your role. The uncertainty is the worst part. Hoping for more clarity soon, but I'm not holding my breath.

Reading this resonates. It’s frustrating when leadership uses vague language that creates more questions than answers. While I appreciate the need for adaptation, the lack of transparency about what 'optimizing our portfolio' actually means is causing a lot of unease across the company. People are worried about their jobs, and rightly so.
