Just saw the official WARN filing hit the wires for the Delcambre facility. Looks like 27 people were let go as of May 30th. It’s always rough seeing these numbers materialize after weeks of rumors. It is never easy to see those numbers confirmed in a WARN filing. I have been through these rounds before, and the uncertainty is usually the worst part. I have been tracking the chatter regarding Delcambre, and frankly, I don’t buy the 'localized consolidation' narrative. When they start pruning sites like this, it is rarely the end of it. Management is under immense pressure from shareholders to show leaner operations, and these types of cuts tend to be a slow drip rather than a single event. If you are at one of the other manufacturing plants, I would suggest brushing up your resume now rather than waiting for the next announcement. It’s a tough environment right now, and nobody is truly safe when the quarterly goals are this aggressive.
