I’m right there with you. The 'efficiency' talk is just corporate speak for burning out the people left behind. Watching colleagues go is bad enough, but being expected to absorb their workload without a clear plan or salary adjustment is insulting. It’s clear they care more about hitting quarterly targets than maintaining any kind of stability. The lack of transparency makes it impossible to plan for the future, and honestly, the uncertainty is worse than the actual news. Just keep your head down and start looking elsewhere; loyalty doesn't seem to be a two-way street here anymore.
That sounds like the typical playbook, unfortunately. They cut deep to satisfy the shareholders, then scramble to fix the broken workflows by leaning on the survivors. If you’re already doing the work of two people, you’re basically carrying the department while management hides behind buzzwords and vague memos. Don't fall for the 'we're all in this together' narrative. Protect your own interests, update your resume, and don't let them guilt-trip you into overextending yourself. It’s time to focus on your own career path instead of waiting for leadership to offer clarity that clearly isn't coming.
