Freeport - Seeing a Lot of 'Contractors' Suddenly Gone?

Alright, so this is more of an observation than anything confirmed, but has anyone else noticed a significant drop-off in contractor presence recently? Specifically in [mention another general area, e.g., engineering services/maintenance crews]. They seem to be packing up and leaving in waves at my location. Again, no official word from management about layoffs, but it feels like a pretty clear indicator. You'd expect if they were just reallocating resources, there'd be some sort of communication, right? It’s just strange to see so many familiar faces suddenly disappear without a peep. Anyone else in a similar boat, or has your site seen anything like this? Trying to connect the dots here.

Interesting observation. I've been hearing some similar whispers, though can't confirm anything specific. It's always a tense time when contractor numbers seem to fluctuate so noticeably. Makes you wonder what the underlying strategy might be, especially without clear communication. Hopefully, it's just a temporary adjustment and not a sign of bigger shifts to come.

I haven't personally seen that at my site, but I can see how that would be concerning. The contracting world can be pretty volatile depending on project cycles and market conditions. Management communication (or lack thereof) can definitely fuel speculation. Keep your eyes and ears open, and maybe check with some of the long-term employees in those departments if you can.
