Freeport McMoRan - Anyone Else Feeling the Chill?

Hey everyone, seeing a lot of chatter lately, and I'm starting to get that uneasy feeling. No official word from HR or anything concrete, but the whispers are getting louder. Been with FCX for a few years now, and things have been pretty stable, but the market has been rough, and with copper prices doing what they're doing... I don't know. Anyone else in operations or corporate roles noticing anything unusual? Are managers being cagey? Are projects being put on hold or scaled back? Just trying to gauge the temperature here. Trying not to panic, but also trying to be prepared. Any insights from different departments would be appreciated. Stay safe out there.

I hear you. It's definitely a strange vibe around here lately. Been trying to get a read on things myself, but like you said, official channels are silent. Just feels like there's an undercurrent of uncertainty, and it's hard to shake. Hoping it's just market noise, but you can't help but wonder what's really going on behind the scenes, especially with project timelines seeming a bit more fluid than usual.

Yeah, I've picked up on some of that too. My department's been a bit quiet on new initiatives, and some of the usual internal updates seem to be missing. Managers are definitely being a bit more tight-lipped than usual when asked about future plans. It's that classic 'wait and see' feeling, and frankly, it's a bit unnerving when you're used to more transparency.
