Gartner Consulting: Anyone else feel like we're being asked to do more with less?

Hey team, has anyone else in Gartner Consulting felt a shift recently? It's not just the usual economic cycles, it feels different. I'm seeing more pressure to deliver on projects with tighter budgets and timelines. Clients are definitely more cost-conscious, which is understandable given the current climate. But it feels like we're being asked to stretch ourselves thinner than before. Are we seeing more internal scrutiny on our project economics, or is this just a widespread client-side pullback we're all feeling? Curious to hear if others are experiencing this and how you're navigating it. Are we bracing for impact or is this just the new normal for consulting?

Totally feel this. It's like the expectation for value delivery has skyrocketed while the resources to achieve it haven't kept pace. It's not just about delivering the scope anymore; it's about demonstrating tangible ROI on every single hour. The internal conversations about project profitability seem amplified too, which adds another layer of pressure. Definitely makes you strategize even harder on how to staff and execute efficiently. It's a challenging environment, for sure.

I've noticed it too. Seems like clients are more willing to question every line item and push back on scope creep more aggressively. We have to be incredibly sharp with our proposals and execution to justify the investment. It's not necessarily a bad thing, as it forces us to be more focused and deliver undeniable results. However, the increased scrutiny and demand for 'more with less' does create a significant operational challenge. Need to be nimble.
