Gartner Consulting: Is the 'AI hype' translating to actual project wins?

Been in consulting here for a few years now, and it feels like every client conversation is somehow related to AI. We're all talking about it, producing research on it, but I'm not seeing that translate into the number of new projects or the scale of existing ones that I expected. It's like there's this huge wave of interest, but the actual money isn't following at the pace the market seems to imply it should. Has anyone else noticed this disconnect? Are you seeing AI initiatives actually getting funded and staffed up on the client side, or is it still mostly theoretical discussions? My pipeline feels a bit... uncertain lately, despite all the buzz.

I've definitely seen the same trend. There's a lot of buzz and initial strategy work around new technologies, but the commitment to large-scale implementation seems slower to materialize. Many organizations are still in the exploratory phase, trying to understand the true ROI and potential risks before making significant investments. It's a classic case of anticipation outstripping immediate execution, and it takes time to build the necessary infrastructure and talent to support these advanced initiatives.
