Anyone else hearing about potential Q2 cuts?

Is it just me, or does the air in the office feel heavy again? I know we saw the WARN notice for the Seattle site back in Dec '22, but the communication lately has been radio silence. I’m starting to see a lot of people updating their LinkedIn profiles and I’m wondering if there’s a bigger wave coming that hasn’t hit the notice boards yet. Management keeps preaching about 'operational efficiency' and 'streamlining,' which usually is code for headcount reduction. I've been with the team for five years and I’ve never seen the leadership team this detached. Everyone is just keeping their heads down and working 10-hour days to look indispensable, but it feels like we’re all just waiting for the other shoe to drop. Has anyone heard anything concrete from their VPs, or are we all just speculating based on the lack of coffee chats and the sudden freezing of travel budgets? I’m exhausted from the constant uncertainty.

The 'operational efficiency' talk is definitely a red flag. I’ve noticed the exact same shift in tone during our town halls, and the lack of clarity from leadership is driving everyone to update their resumes. It feels like we are in a holding pattern waiting for the other shoe to drop, especially with how quiet things have been regarding the Q2 outlook. You aren't imagining things—the anxiety in the office is palpable, and when they start using buzzwords like 'streamlining,' it is rarely a good sign for current headcounts.

I wouldn't hold my breath for any transparency from management right now. They love to keep us in the dark until the very last second, just like they did before. If you see LinkedIn profiles changing, that is the most reliable indicator we have. Everyone is hedging their bets, and frankly, it is the smart move. Don't wait for an official notice to start preparing your exit strategy; keep your options open and make sure you’re ready to pivot if the rumors about Q2 turn out to be accurate.
