Anyone else noticing a slowdown in new project approvals?

Hey all, been at GEHC for a few years now in [redacted department]. Lately, it feels like everything is stuck in some kind of 'review' purgatory. New initiatives are getting delayed, budget requests are being scrutinized way more than usual, and even simple resource allocations are taking forever. It's making it tough to plan effectively and keep momentum. Is this just my corner of the company, or are others seeing this too? Wondering if it's a sign of budget tightening or something else. Feels a bit like we're holding our breath, but I can't put my finger on why. Any insights or similar experiences would be appreciated.

I'm definitely feeling this too, though in a different division. The approval process for even minor equipment upgrades has become a marathon. It's not just new projects; existing ones seem to be under a microscope too, with constant requests for updated ROI projections and risk assessments. Yeah, the slowdown is palpable. We've had a couple of promising R&D initiatives get shelved or significantly scaled back due to 'budgetary constraints,' which is a new refrain for us.
