Internal mobility surge - a good sign or bad?

Has anyone else noticed a significant increase in internal job postings and people moving around between departments? Seems like there are way more opportunities to transfer than usual. On one hand, it could mean the company is investing in internal talent and trying to retain people by offering new roles. But on the other hand, it feels a bit like a reshuffling, and I'm wondering if it's a way to move people out of roles that might be considered redundant without outright layoffs. It's hard to tell if this is strategic growth or a quiet restructure. Anyone have any insights or seen this pattern before?

I've definitely seen the same trend. My department alone has had several internal transfers recently. I'm leaning towards it being a positive indicator. It suggests GE HealthCare is recognizing internal skills and trying to utilize them better, rather than always looking externally. Hopefully, it means more growth opportunities for everyone here and less need to look elsewhere for career advancement. It feels more like strategic placement than anything concerning.

Interesting observation about the internal mobility. I'm a bit more skeptical. While the idea of internal growth is appealing, the sheer volume does make you wonder. Is this organic movement driven by employee ambition and new projects, or is it a more calculated maneuver to optimize staffing? Could be a bit of both, but it's worth watching closely to see if it translates to genuine career progression or just a temporary shuffle before bigger changes occur.
