Is anyone actually feeling stable here right now?

Honestly, the vibe at GEHC feels so weird lately. We hear all the 'growth' buzzwords during the town halls, but then these random WARN notices pop up, and the workload just keeps piling on. It feels like we are constantly being asked to do more with less, while management acts like everything is perfectly fine. I’ve been looking at the internal boards and it’s just crickets. Nobody wants to talk about the obvious elephant in the room because we’re all terrified of putting a target on our backs. Is anyone getting clear signals from their managers, or is it just 'keep your head down and hope you don't get the invite to a 15-minute sync' for everyone else too? Thinking about updating my resume this weekend just to be safe, because this 'one person' layoff usually feels like a precursor to something bigger in the departments that aren't hitting their quarterly targets.

I totally get where you're coming from. It’s like we’re living in two different realities—the corporate slide decks promising innovation and the actual chaos of trying to hit unrealistic targets with a dwindling team. The silence in the office is the worst part. You can tell everyone is just keeping their heads down, waiting for the other shoe to drop. It’s hard to stay motivated when you feel like a disposable line item on a spreadsheet, especially when the leadership keeps gaslighting us about how well things are going.

Maybe it’s time to stop waiting for clarity and start prioritizing your own exit strategy. Honestly, the corporate culture there has been hollow for a long time. They’ll keep using those buzzwords right up until the day they hand you a cardboard box. If you’re feeling that level of anxiety, your gut is probably right. Don’t burn yourself out trying to fix a ship that management has clearly decided is expendable. Look out for yourself, keep your resume updated, and stop stressing about metrics that won't even matter in six months.
