Performance review criteria feel… arbitrary lately.

Is anyone else finding the performance review process a bit of a black box this year? I'm in one of the core engineering groups for medical devices, and the goals we were given at the start of the cycle seem to have shifted, or at least the emphasis on them has. It's not just about hitting your targets anymore; there's this added layer of 'demonstrating agility' and 'contributing to broader strategic initiatives,' which feels really vague. Some colleagues are reporting similar experiences, where subjective factors seem to be weighing in more heavily than objective metrics. Makes it hard to plan and focus when the goalposts feel like they're moving. Anyone else navigating this, and how are you approaching it?
