Hey everyone, has anyone else noticed a significant uptick in meetings focused on 'efficiency,' 'streamlining processes,' and 'optimizing resource allocation' over the past few weeks? It feels like every other day there's a new presentation or discussion about how we can 'do more with less.' My manager keeps talking about 'strategic realignment' but it's all very vague. Normally, I wouldn't think much of it, but combined with the whispers about hiring freezes and the general vibe of caution, it's starting to make me nervous. Anyone else hearing this kind of language, and what's your take? Is this just standard corporate speak, or is something else brewing?

Yeah, it's definitely a thing. Feels like corporate is pushing a narrative right now. My team's been told to document every single task, no matter how small, and justify its value. It’s creating a lot of extra work that doesn't feel like it's actually improving anything, just adding to the busywork. Makes you wonder what the real endgame is behind all this 'optimization' talk.
