Gen Digital - Unsettling quiet on future projects/roadmaps

Lately, there's been a weird vibe concerning project planning and future roadmaps. Normally, at this time of year, we'd have a pretty clear picture of what's coming down the pipeline for the next 6-12 months. Engineering, product, marketing – everyone would be aligning on priorities and kicking off new initiatives. But now? It's radio silent. When you ask about upcoming projects or strategic direction, the answers are vague at best, or you just get the typical 'we're still evaluating' or 'it's in the strategy phase.' There's a distinct lack of concrete information and a general feeling of uncertainty. This isn't just about new hires (which also seems to have slowed down, judging by other posts), but it feels like a broader hesitation to commit to anything significant. It's making it hard to plan personal development, focus efforts, and even feel motivated when the long-term vision feels so murky. Anyone else in a similar boat? What's your take on this sudden lack of clarity on future work?

I've noticed the same quietness. It's definitely unusual given the typical Q4 planning cadence. Makes it hard for teams to strategize and allocate resources effectively when the future direction feels so uncertain. Hopefully, they'll shed some light soon, because this lack of clarity is starting to impact morale and planning across departments. It's hard to get excited about new initiatives when you don't know what they'll even be or if they align with any larger company goals. This silence is frankly a bit concerning.

Perhaps the silence is strategic, a deliberate move to consolidate or pivot without tipping their hand too early. It's possible there are significant internal shifts happening that aren't ready for broad communication yet. While the lack of transparency is frustrating for day-to-day operations, it might be part of a larger, undisclosed plan. I'm reserving judgment until we see some official communication, but I agree, the current quiet is definitely a departure from the norm and leaves a lot of room for speculation.
