Generac - Performance reviews feeling particularly tense lately

Hey everyone, has anyone else's performance review cycle felt different this year? Mine just wrapped up and it was unusually intense. Lots of focus on 'impact' and 'efficiency metrics' that felt more like a prelude to something than just standard feedback. My manager was being really cagey about future team needs, just kept saying 'we're optimizing resources'. It's making me nervous, especially with all the talk about market shifts and global supply chains. Anyone else getting this vibe or am I just overthinking it?

I've definitely noticed a shift too. My review was heavy on metrics, and when I asked for specifics on future projects, it was all vague 'synergy' and 'streamlining'. Felt like a lot of corporate jargon to mask a potential restructuring or budget cuts. I'm keeping my resume updated just in case. It's unsettling when the company culture suddenly feels so... transactional.

Yeah, it's not just you. The review process felt like a high-stakes interrogation this year, not a conversation about growth. They were really drilling down on individual output and how it aligns with 'strategic imperatives,' which sounds good on paper but felt like they were looking for reasons to trim the fat. The cagey responses about the future are a huge red flag for me.
