Generac - Unfilled roles piling up everywhere

Hey everyone, been with Generac for a few years now in the industrial side. Lately, it feels like almost every job posting I see that was up a few months ago is still lingering. Not only that, but people are leaving my department and their roles aren't being backfilled. We're picking up the slack, but it's getting noticeable. Management keeps talking about 'streamlining' and 'optimizing', but it feels like code for 'doing more with less'. Anyone else seeing this trend? Feels like we're heading towards some kind of 'right-sizing' event, even if nothing's been officially announced. Just feels like a lot of positions are open and staying open, and people are stretched.

Yeah, I've noticed that too across a few different departments. It seems like there's a disconnect between the stated goals and the reality on the ground. The constant talk of efficiency sounds a lot like expecting the existing team to absorb additional workload without proper support. It's definitely putting a strain on morale and productivity, and it's surprising that so many positions remain unfilled for extended periods. Hopefully, leadership addresses this before it causes bigger issues.

I can confirm this is happening. We've had several open positions in our engineering team for months, and it's creating significant bottlenecks. The 'streamlining' talk feels disingenuous when essential roles aren't being filled and the remaining staff are stretched thin. It's creating a stressful environment, and frankly, I'm concerned about the long-term impact on project timelines and overall quality of work. Management needs to be more transparent about their hiring strategy.
