GD - Any Early Signs Before Big Moves?

Been through layoffs before at other companies, and there's usually a pattern, even if subtle. Lately at GD, it feels like we're approaching that point. Managers are suddenly very cagey about future projects, there's been a noticeable ramp-up in 'performance reviews' (even for folks who are usually stellar performers), and some non-essential hiring seems to have frozen overnight. No news from leadership, but the water cooler talk is getting louder. I'm wondering if anyone has seen specific indicators in the past at GD, or even other defense contractors, that often precede significant workforce reductions. Not trying to create panic, just trying to be prepared and understand the landscape. Any insights on what to watch for would be appreciated.

I've noticed some of the same things. The increased emphasis on 'efficiency' discussions in team meetings feels a bit pointed. Also, travel budgets seem to be under tighter scrutiny than usual, with more approvals needed for even routine trips. It's easy to dismiss these as normal business cycles, but when you string them together, it does create a sense of unease. Hopefully, it's just seasonal planning, but the feeling is definitely there.

I'm not sure I'm seeing the same signals. While there's always internal chatter about restructuring or budget adjustments, it seems pretty standard for a company of GD's size. Performance reviews happen regularly, and project pipelines are always being evaluated. Sometimes, the perception of something brewing is just amplified by a few vocal individuals. I'm choosing to focus on my current work and trust that leadership has a solid plan for the future.
