GD - Anyone hearing rumblings? What's the vibe at your site?

Hey all, been seeing some chatter here and there about potential slowdowns at GD, especially on the IT/corporate side. My site hasn't seen anything concrete, but the general mood feels a bit... off. Project funding seems tighter, and there's been a bit more talk about 'optimizing resources' than usual. Anyone else in GD feeling this? Curious if it's specific divisions or a company-wide thing starting to bubble up. I'm in Electric Boat, and it's been quiet, but that's a whole different beast. Trying to get a read on the broader GD landscape before the holidays hit. What's the word on the street at Land Systems, Bath Iron Works, or NAS? Layoffs haven't been officially announced, but sometimes you can feel the tremors before the earthquake. Trying to stay ahead of any potential bad news.

Not much directly on my end, but I've noticed a subtle shift in meetings. More emphasis on efficiency and 'doing more with less,' which, while not alarming on its own, feels like it's becoming a more frequent talking point lately. Heard some whispers about hiring freezes in certain non-production roles across the pond, but nothing concrete enough to confirm. Still busy with core programs here, so fingers crossed it stays that way.

Interesting post. At my location, it's business as usual for the most part. We're deep in a major contract, and the pace hasn't changed. However, I've heard from colleagues in other departments that there's been some restructuring discussions, particularly around project management and support functions. They mentioned a push for tighter budget controls and a review of overhead costs. Could be the start of something, or just standard annual planning. Time will tell.
