GD - Performance reviews and upcoming goals - any signs?

Hey folks, wanted to see if anyone else is seeing anything out of the ordinary with the recent performance review cycle or the way goals are being set for the next year. At my division, it feels like a lot of emphasis is being placed on 'efficiency' and 'streamlining' in a way that's a bit more intense than usual. There's also a noticeable hush-hush around any major project pipelines for the next 18 months. Usually, we get a pretty clear picture of what's coming down the pike, but it's all very vague this time around. Just trying to gauge if this is a company-wide push or if it's specific to my area. Anyone else noticing a shift in how performance is being measured or communicated?

Interesting observation about the focus on efficiency. My team has definitely felt a similar push, though it's been framed more around optimizing existing processes rather than massive layoffs. The quiet on future projects is a bit concerning though. Normally, there's a buzz about the big wins, but it does seem like they're keeping a tighter lid on things lately. Hopefully, it's just strategic realignment and not a sign of bigger issues brewing.

Yeah, the 'efficiency' mantra is definitely echoing across different parts of the company. It's a common business practice, but the intensity you're describing does raise an eyebrow. As for the project pipeline silence, that's pretty unusual. Transparency usually helps keep morale up, especially when things are tight. Maybe they're consolidating wins or working on some very sensitive, long-term contracts that require extreme discretion. Fingers crossed it's the latter.
