General Dynamics - Anyone else seeing budget cuts trickle down?

Lately, it feels like the purse strings are getting tighter across the board. We've had some smaller, non-essential training budgets slashed, and there's been a freeze on replacing some older equipment that's definitely past its prime. Travel is also becoming a much bigger hurdle to get approved, even for critical meetings. It's not a full-blown hiring freeze, as I've seen a few specialized roles still being advertised, but it definitely feels like a tightening. Wondering if this is just a temporary measure due to economic headwinds or if it's a precursor to something more significant. Curious to hear if others are experiencing similar budget squeezes.

Yeah, I've noticed it too. My department's been told to hold off on non-critical purchases, and we're seeing longer lead times on even basic supplies. It's understandable given the current economic climate, but it does make planning for the next quarter a bit more challenging. Hopefully, it's a temporary situation and things will loosen up soon. Just trying to make do with what we have for now.

Definitely feeling the pinch over here. We're being asked to justify every penny spent, and overtime requests are getting extra scrutiny. It's not a crisis, but it's definitely a noticeable shift from how things were even six months ago. Seems like every department is being asked to contribute to belt-tightening. Hopefully, this means more stability down the line, but for now, it’s a bit of a grind.
