General Dynamics - Budgeting and Hiring Freezes?

Is anyone else noticing a slowdown in hiring or any unusual budget constraints popping up across GD? It's not a formal announcement or anything, but there seems to be a general 'tightening' feeling. My manager has been really cagey about future headcount and projects are being scrutinized more than usual. It’s making planning for next quarter pretty difficult. Wondering if this is happening elsewhere or if it’s just isolated to certain parts of the company. Curious if this is a pre-layoff indicator or just standard end-of-year budgeting paranoia. Anyone got a read on this?

I've definitely felt a shift lately. It's not just you. Budget approvals are taking way longer than they used to, and even small expenses are getting second and third looks. Hiring requests are getting flagged up the chain for extra justification, and it seems like the default answer is 'wait and see.' Makes you wonder what's going on behind the scenes, doesn't it?

Yeah, I've heard similar rumblings. My team's been told to be extra judicious with spending, and any new hires are on an indefinite hold. It's creating a bit of uncertainty, for sure. My guess is they're just being cautious with market conditions, but it would be nice to get some clearer communication about the overall strategy. Planning is definitely tougher when you don't know what resources you'll have.
