General Dynamics - Performance metrics feeling a bit... arbitrary lately?

I'm curious if anyone else is feeling this. We just finished our annual performance reviews, and this year felt different. The usual goals were there, but the emphasis seemed to shift heavily towards metrics that feel a bit disconnected from our actual day-to-day work. It's like they're trying to quantify things that are inherently qualitative, or maybe setting targets that are intentionally difficult to hit. This is happening across multiple teams I'm loosely connected with. It's making me wonder if this is a prelude to something, like trying to build a case for RIFs or reorgs down the line based on 'performance'. Anyone else experiencing this shift in how performance is being measured or discussed?
