Seeing a lot of speculation on here about GD layoffs, but honestly, my day-to-day hasn't changed much. No WARN notices, no official comms about significant cuts. It feels like a lot of people are anxious and projecting. Defense is cyclical, and sometimes these 'slowdowns' are just normal project shifts or budget adjustments. Anyone actually *seen* or *heard* concrete evidence of impending layoffs at General Dynamics? Not just 'vibes' or 'rumors' passed down the chain. Trying to separate the noise from actual signals. If there are cuts coming, where are they likely to hit hardest? Tech? Program management? Back-office functions? Any intel from HR or leadership that isn't just corporate speak would be appreciated. Trying to prepare but also don't want to panic unnecessarily.

Echoing this. I've been with GD for a while, and this kind of talk pops up every few years, usually tied to election cycles or budget debates. Unless you're in a specific division that's just lost a major contract, or you've been directly notified, I'd take most of what's being said with a huge grain of salt. Focus on your performance and stay informed through official channels. Panicking doesn't help anyone, and frankly, it distracts from the real work.
