Just saw the WARN notice hit for the Baltimore site. Another 22 people getting the boot as of May 16th. It’s a smaller number compared to the bloodbaths at other defense firms, but it’s still 22 families dealing with the stress of a job search in this market. Anyone here on the ground in MD? Are they doing this in waves, or is this supposed to be the end of it for this quarter? I’m starting to get that pit in my stomach again every time a calendar invite pops up from someone I don’t recognize in HR. The internal comms about 'strategic alignment' are getting real old, real fast. Stay safe out there.

It is honestly exhausting waiting for the next shoe to drop. Even if 22 people sounds minor compared to the massive layoffs elsewhere, the uncertainty is what really wears you down. I have friends in the Baltimore office and the morale there is at an absolute low. People are constantly checking the WARN database instead of focusing on their actual work. Management keeps saying it is just 'restructuring' or 'alignment,' but it is hard to believe that when the invites from HR keep appearing out of nowhere. We really need some transparency on whether this is a phased exit or if we should be expecting more cuts before the quarter closes.

If you're seeing unknown names on calendar invites, keep your resume updated and start networking outside the company immediately. Don't wait for a formal announcement to plan your exit. It is a harsh market, but waiting for the company to give you the clear signal is how people end up blindsided. Look out for yourselves.
