Anyone else seeing fewer new project approvals at General Mills?

Lately, it feels like getting new projects off the ground at GM has become significantly harder. The approval process seems more drawn out, and I'm seeing more proposals getting shelved or put on indefinite hold. It's not just my team; I've spoken with colleagues in adjacent departments, and they're experiencing the same. This isn't about budget cuts that I can directly see, but it feels like a tightening of resources or a shift in strategic priorities that's making leadership more hesitant to commit to new ventures. We're still delivering on existing commitments, but the pipeline for future growth feels like it's constricting. Has anyone else observed this? Is this a company-wide trend, or am I just in a particularly stagnant part of the organization? Wondering if this is a precursor to anything bigger, or just a sign of the current economic climate impacting decisions. Curious to hear if others are feeling this pinch or if it's just me.

I've noticed a similar trend. It seems like there's a much lower tolerance for risk lately, and anything that isn't a guaranteed slam dunk is facing intense scrutiny. The strategic alignment justification needs to be rock solid, and even then, it's a tough sell. Hopefully, this is a temporary phase and not a sign of things to come.

Could it be related to the recent focus on efficiency and streamlining? Sometimes, when companies emphasize those areas, the bar for new initiatives gets higher because they have to demonstrate a clear and immediate impact on the bottom line. It's definitely frustrating when good ideas aren't getting the green light.
