Anyone else seeing the 'efficiency' projects piling up?

It feels like every week we’re being tasked with another 'synergy' project or an initiative to streamline our processes, but all it does is create more busy work. My team has been asked to document every single hour of our output, which honestly feels like a precursor to a performance review or a workforce assessment. The workload has increased significantly, yet we're being told that we need to 'do more with less' to protect our margins. It’s hard to stay focused on long-term strategy when the general sentiment on the floor is that half of us might not be here by the summer. If there are actual layoffs coming, I wish they’d just rip the bandage off instead of making us jump through these hoops under the guise of 'operational excellence.' Anyone else in the CPG space feeling this same pressure, or are things actually stable at other sites?

Same here. It’s the classic corporate squeeze where they talk about 'efficiency' while actually just adding layers of administrative bloat. Watching my team spend half the day tracking tasks in a spreadsheet instead of actually doing the work we were hired for is exhausting. It feels like they're trying to justify cuts by creating artificial busy work to see who breaks first. Hard to maintain any real morale when you know the next 'initiative' is just a way to trim the headcount further.

I completely hear you. That 'do more with less' mantra has become the default anthem around here, and it is honestly wearing thin. Every time leadership rolls out these new process improvements, it just feels like we’re drowning in documentation instead of hitting our actual KPIs. They want high-level strategy, but we're bogged down in granular reporting that doesn't actually add value to the brand. It’s becoming impossible to keep up the pace without burning out, and management seems completely blind to that reality.
