Hiring seems to have completely stalled - what gives?

Just curious if others are seeing the same thing. Applied for a couple of roles internally a few weeks back and haven't heard a peep, which is unusual for GMI. My manager also mentioned they put in a req for a new team member a while ago and it's just sitting in limbo, no interviews scheduled, no feedback. It feels like a blanket freeze, not just for external hires but internal mobility too. Combined with the general slowdown on new projects, it's hard not to think this is a precursor to something bigger. Is anyone aware of any internal communications or hints about future staffing plans? Trying to manage expectations and figure out if this is just a temporary lull or something more permanent. Anyone in HR or with insight, please chime in.
