Is the 'accelerate' strategy just code for RIF?

Every single town hall lately is peppered with buzzwords about 'accelerating our growth' and 'streamlining our operating model.' I’ve been through enough of these corporate cycles to know that when leadership stops talking about new projects and starts obsessing over 'efficiency metrics,' the hammer is usually about to drop. I feel like we’re being conditioned to expect a round of cuts disguised as a restructuring plan. I’m hearing rumblings from some of the long-timers that the Q3 numbers are looking underwhelming, and we all know what happens next. Has anyone heard anything concrete, or are we all just sitting ducks waiting for the calendar invite from hell?

The buzzword bingo in these town halls is honestly exhausting. Whenever leadership starts prioritizing 'streamlining' over actual product innovation, it’s a massive red flag. We’ve seen this script play out a dozen times before, and it rarely ends with the staff being better off. If Q3 is as soft as the rumors suggest, they are absolutely clearing the deck to protect their margins before the next quarterly report drops. Just keep your resume updated and stay quiet until the announcement actually hits the deck.
