Rumblings and weird vibes at GMI?

Been with the company for a few years now, and lately things just feel... off. There haven't been any official announcements, but the usual team meetings feel a lot more tense. People are quieter, less proactive. I've noticed a definite slowdown in new projects getting greenlit, and some internal roles that normally would have been filled quickly are now left open for weeks. My manager is being super cagey when asked about headcount or future plans, just giving generic 'we're optimizing' type answers. Is anyone else picking up on this? Is it just my department, or is there a broader chill happening across General Mills? Trying to gauge if I should be worried or if this is just a normal business cycle I'm overthinking. Curious to hear what others are experiencing.

I've also picked up on a shift in atmosphere. It's subtle, but you can feel it in the air. The usual buzz feels muted, and there's an undercurrent of uncertainty that wasn't there before. Fingers crossed it's just a temporary phase and things will pick back up soon. Hope the 'optimization' leads to something positive for everyone.

Sounds familiar. It's unnerving when the energy changes like that without any clear reason. That reluctance to share information about staffing or future direction is a classic sign of something brewing. Hoping for transparency soon, but until then, just trying to focus on my own work and stay adaptable.
