Anyone else feeling the burnout from constant 'realignment'?

Another day, another round of cuts. It feels like Gilead has been in a perpetual state of 'realigning' for the last two years. Every time they announce a new pivot or a divestment, the rest of us left behind just get handed the extra workload without any change in headcount or budget. My team is currently down two headcounts from the Q3 reshuffle and now we’re hearing whispers about further operational efficiency moves. I’m tired of the corporate speak about 'agility' when the reality is just a slow grind of attrition and anxiety. Is it just my group, or is the morale floor basically gone across the entire Foster City campus? I’ve started looking at other big pharma competitors because honestly, the stress-to-pay ratio isn't what it used to be. Has anyone successfully jumped ship to a mid-sized biotech recently? Need some hope that the grass is actually greener.

It feels like we are stuck in a cycle of 'doing more with less' that never actually ends. The constant shifting of priorities makes it impossible to gain any real traction on long-term projects, yet management expects the same output. Every time I hear that 'agility' buzzword, I know it’s just code for a heavier workload and less support. The morale hit is palpable, and the lack of stability is starting to drive the best talent right out the door to competitors who actually value consistency.
