Gilead: Anyone else dealing with a hiring freeze or slowdown?

Noticed a lot of requisitions I was expecting to see populated have either disappeared or are stalled indefinitely. My manager mentioned some 'strategic realignment' that's putting a pause on all new external hires for the foreseeable future. It's not just for my team; I've heard similar stories from other divisions. We were supposed to bring on a couple of critical roles this quarter, and now it looks like that's a no-go. Seems like they're really trying to manage headcount very carefully right now. Has anyone else been affected by this, or heard any official (or unofficial) word on what's going on with hiring? Just trying to get a sense of the broader picture.

Yeah, I've definitely been feeling the pinch. Applied for a few roles internally that seemed like a good fit, and crickets. My contacts are saying the same thing – budgets are tight and priorities are shifting. It's frustrating when you're trying to advance your career or fill critical gaps and everything just grinds to a halt. Wondering how long this 'strategic realignment' is expected to last. Same here. It's not just external hiring, even internal transfers seem to be on ice. Heard whispers that they're reviewing all open positions and only proceeding with those deemed absolutely essential. Management's being pretty cagey about the details, just 'focusing on core business' and 'optimizing resources.' Makes it hard to plan anything, and frankly, it's a bit unsettling. Curious to see if this impacts existing employees or if it's solely focused on new hires.
