Gilead: Anyone else seeing increased urgency around resource allocation?

Hey everyone, I've been at Gilead for a few years now and lately, I've noticed a definite uptick in discussions about efficiency and resource optimization. It feels like management is really zeroing in on where every dollar is going, and there's a subtle but palpable pressure to justify project spending. It's not outright panic, but the conversations are more frequent and more pointed than usual. Just wondering if anyone else is picking up on this vibe across different departments or sites. Is this a company-wide push or am I just in a particularly scrutinized area? Curious to hear if others are experiencing similar shifts in focus or tone from leadership. Trying to get a read on the overall climate.

Totally agree. I've definitely felt that shift too, especially in R&D. It seems like every new initiative, even promising ones, is under a microscope. There's a lot more emphasis on clear ROI timelines and potential market impact from the get-go. Makes sense in the current climate, but it does add a different kind of pressure to the day-to-day.

I've noticed it as well, though perhaps from a slightly different angle in my area. It's less about direct project pressure and more about how cross-functional teams are being asked to prioritize. It feels like we're being pushed to make tougher choices about where to focus our collective energy and budget, which can be a challenge when many things seem important.
