The constant restructuring is demoralizing. Every time I see a calendar invite from an unknown manager or HR, my stomach drops. It feels like we are just numbers on a spreadsheet being shuffled around to appease investors while the actual work suffers. It’s hard to remain motivated when you know your project or team might be dissolved by the end of the quarter. At this point, we are all just waiting for the other shoe to drop, and it's making it impossible to focus on anything beyond basic survival in this office.
Honestly, I stopped caring about the culture months ago. Gilead is just a place to collect a paycheck until the inevitable happens. You have to treat this like a mercenary gig at this point. Keep your head down, do your work, and keep your resume updated on LinkedIn. It is a cynical way to exist, but looking at how they handle these layoffs, it’s the only way to protect your own sanity. Stop expecting the company to care about you; they only care about the quarterly earnings report and the share price.
