Globe Life - Efficiency drives or cost-cutting disguised?

Lately, it feels like there's a huge push for 'efficiency' and 'streamlining processes' across the board at Globe Life. We're being asked to do more with less, and there's a lot of emphasis on optimizing workflows. While some of these changes are genuinely helpful, I'm starting to wonder if this is just the prelude to something bigger. The metrics being tracked are intense, and the pressure to hit targets is mounting. It feels less like genuine process improvement and more like a justification for reducing headcount down the line. Has anyone else felt this shift? It's starting to feel like a lot of busywork is being introduced to make it look like we're all being 'productive' while the company figures out who's essential. Just a gut feeling, but I'm bracing myself.

I'm feeling the same way. The constant focus on metrics and 'optimizing' everything is starting to feel like a way to justify reducing headcount down the line. It's creating a lot of unnecessary stress and anxiety among staff who are already stretched thin. If they really wanted efficiency, they'd invest in better resources and support, not just track every minute of our time and demand more output with fewer tools. It's a race to the bottom disguised as progress.
