Globe Life - Performance reviews feel more high-stakes now?

So, performance review season is coming up and I'm feeling the pressure more than ever at Globe Life. It feels like the criteria are being applied more rigorously, and there's a lot more emphasis on 'impact' and 'efficiency.' It's got me wondering if this is leading up to something. I've heard rumblings about budget reviews and a focus on optimizing resources across the board. Trying not to jump to conclusions, but the heightened scrutiny around performance makes me a little uneasy. Is anyone else feeling this way? Does it seem like the company is laying the groundwork for potential headcount adjustments based on these reviews? Just looking for some perspective here, as the atmosphere feels different this year.

I'm feeling it too. The increased focus on metrics and demonstrating tangible outcomes is definitely noticeable. It makes you second-guess every project and task, wondering if it's 'impactful' enough. The emphasis on 'efficiency' feels like a thinly veiled way of saying 'do more with less.' It's creating a bit of a stressful environment where every review feels like a potential referendum on your value to the company. Hoping it's just a temporary shift in management priorities, but it's hard to shake the feeling that something bigger might be brewing.
