It feels like we’re just playing whack-a-mole with these announcements now. The 124 people cut in Philly yesterday—did anyone actually get a heads-up, or was it the usual 'meeting invite at 9 AM' routine? The silence from leadership is deafening, as usual. We keep hearing about 'strategic alignment' and 'optimizing our footprint,' but it’s just fancy corporate speak for cutting costs to make the quarterly numbers look better for the shareholders. I’ve been here long enough to see the cycle, but the frequency is definitely accelerating. Is there anyone left in the Philly office that isn't looking for the exit right now? I’m genuinely curious if the attrition rate is starting to hurt our ability to even get the daily work done. It feels like every time I turn around, someone else is suddenly 'no longer with the firm.' Stay safe out there, keep your LinkedIn updated, and make sure you’ve archived your performance reviews. You never know when your access is going to get cut.

The 9 AM calendar invite surprise is a classic at this point. It’s impossible to feel secure when management hides behind buzzwords like 'optimizing our footprint' while people’s livelihoods are pulled out from under them overnight. They talk about strategic alignment, but it’s clear the only alignment they care about is the one that pads the quarterly earnings for shareholders. The total lack of transparency isn't just frustrating; it’s a direct indicator of how little they value the institutional knowledge leaving the building every time they do this.

I've stopped looking for the 'heads-up' because I know it’s never coming. That’s just the culture here—keep everyone on edge until the moment they’re shown the door. At this stage, it feels like the company is just eroding its own foundation to meet arbitrary targets. If leadership thinks these constant cuts aren't damaging morale and long-term productivity, they are completely out of touch with what’s happening on the ground. Everyone is just waiting for the next round of invites to drop.
