Morale seems low at The Hartford, anyone else feeling it?

Just me or has the general vibe at The Hartford taken a nosedive recently? Been here a few years and it feels like everyone's walking on eggshells. There's been a lot of talk about 'efficiency' and 'streamlining' but no one's really sure what that means for us. People are quiet in meetings, fewer spontaneous chats by the coffee machine. Even the usually chipper folks seem a bit subdued. Is it just my department, or is this a company-wide thing? Starting to wonder if something's brewing under the surface. Not seeing any official announcements, but the atmosphere is definitely... different. Anyone else picking up on this? Trying not to read too much into it, but it's hard not to when the general mood feels so tense.

I've definitely felt a shift. The 'efficiency' buzzwords are constant, and it feels like they create more anxiety than clarity. It's hard to stay motivated when you're unsure about the future and communication feels top-down and vague. Lots of us are just trying to keep our heads down and do the work, but the underlying unease is palpable. Makes you wonder what the real agenda is behind all the 'streamlining'.

Totally. It's like the energy has been sucked out of the place. Used to be you'd hear laughter and people collaborating, now it's just a hushed atmosphere. The constant talk of restructuring and the lack of transparent communication is definitely impacting morale. People are more hesitant to speak up or take risks, which is a shame because there's so much talent here. Hopefully, leadership will address this soon before more good people decide to look elsewhere.
