The Hartford - Rumors or reality about hiring freeze?

Been hearing whispers about a pretty strict hiring freeze across multiple divisions at The Hartford. Not just for new hires, but also a hesitancy to backfill roles that have become vacant. Coupled with the general 'leaner and meaner' talk, it's making me a little nervous. It's one thing to have fewer open reqs, but a full freeze feels like a significant shift. Has anyone had their team's headcount frozen or seen requisitions get pulled unexpectedly? Trying to separate the usual office gossip from anything substantive. My manager has been pretty tight-lipped, which is usually a bad sign. Anyone have any concrete info or insights on this, especially from HR or higher-up circles? Curious to hear what others are experiencing.

I've definitely noticed a slowdown in requisitions being posted, and some roles I was expecting to see filled haven't materialized. It's hard to say if it's a complete freeze or just a much tighter budget, but the vibe is certainly more cautious. It's understandable given the current economic climate, but it's always a bit unsettling when you're looking for new opportunities or hoping for team expansion.
