I've heard similar rumblings, though not in marketing or tech specifically. My department, operations in a major hub city, has definitely seen a slowdown in hiring for entry-level positions. We were expecting to bring on a few new supervisors for the upcoming season, but those roles seem to have been put on hold indefinitely. Management is just saying 'budget review' and hasn't given any clear timelines. It's definitely creating some added pressure on the existing team, so I'm keeping an eye on this.
That's interesting to hear about the corporate side. I'm in a more guest-facing role at a resort property, and we haven't seen any freezes, but there's definitely a heightened awareness about resource allocation. We're being encouraged to cross-train and maximize efficiency. While not a freeze, it feels like a general cost-saving sentiment is in the air across the board. Maybe different divisions are being impacted at different times or in different ways.
