Hilton: Performance review season has me worried

So, performance review season is upon us at Hilton, and the vibe is definitely different this year. There's a lot more emphasis on 'impact' and 'efficiency,' which sounds fine on paper, but feels like it's leading to some really tough conversations. I've heard from a couple of colleagues in other departments that some 'underperformers' (their words, not mine) are being put on notice. This isn't tied to any official layoff announcement, but the general sentiment is that the bar is higher, and there's less room for error. Anyone else experiencing this pressure during reviews? Feels like a bit of a 'prove it or lose it' situation is brewing. Just trying to understand the climate before my own review next week. Any advice on how to navigate this would be great.

Yeah, I'm feeling the pressure too. It's a bit unsettling when the focus shifts so heavily to 'impact' and 'efficiency' without clear guidelines on what that truly means for day-to-day roles. Trying to translate abstract goals into tangible results feels like a moving target. Hope everyone manages to navigate these conversations successfully. It's definitely a different atmosphere than previous years.

Interesting to hear this is happening across departments. The talk about 'underperformers' being put on notice is definitely concerning, even without official layoff news. It feels like a general tightening of the belt and an expectation for everyone to be operating at peak performance. Makes you wonder what the long-term strategy behind this push for higher bars is.
