Anyone else blindsided by the Danbury cuts today?

Just logged on and saw the WARN notice hit for the Danbury site. 86 people out by December 20th. Seriously, right before the holidays? This feels like an absolute gut punch to the culture here. I’ve been hearing rumors for weeks that the integration wasn't going as planned, but I didn't think they’d actually pull the plug on this many roles this quickly. For those of us left behind, the vibe in the office is just total silence. No one is talking, everyone is just staring at their monitors waiting for a calendar invite that says 'sync' or 'touch base.' Is this the start of a broader RIF, or are we hoping this is localized to the specific unit in CT? If you’re one of the 86, I’m truly sorry—this place hasn't felt like a stable workplace in a long time. Stay safe out there and start polishing the resume immediately if you haven't already.

I am so sorry to hear this. It is absolutely brutal timing to drop a WARN notice right before the holidays. I have been through site closures before, and that specific silence you’re describing is the worst part—the feeling that the floor could drop out from under anyone at any moment. Take care of yourself and try to support your colleagues if you can; it’s an incredibly tough situation to navigate when the culture starts to evaporate like that.

These cuts were bound to happen sooner or later. Once the integration started showing signs of strain, the writing was on the wall. It’s definitely harsh timing, but corporate leadership rarely factors the holidays into their bottom-line decisions. If the site is struggling to meet efficiency targets, they were always going to prioritize the quarterly numbers over the office vibe. Don't let the silence get to you—focus on your own trajectory and make sure your skills are sharp for whatever comes next.
