Hologic - Layoffs coming or just a slow down?

Hey everyone, been seeing some weird signals at Hologic lately and wanted to see if anyone else is picking up on them. There's been a pretty noticeable slowdown in hiring for several roles I've been tracking, and some teams are suddenly quiet. Performance reviews just wrapped up, and the talk around the water cooler isn't exactly rosy. It's not like there's been an official announcement or anything concrete, but the vibe feels... off. Used to be you'd hear about new projects and expansion, but now it's more about 'streamlining' and 'optimizing'. Anyone else in manufacturing, R&D, or sales seeing similar things? Is this just the usual Q4 slowdown, or is something bigger brewing? Trying to get a read on the situation before things get officially official, if you know what I mean.

I've definitely noticed a similar trend in my department. Hiring requests that were previously approved are now on hold indefinitely, and there's a general air of uncertainty. It's hard to say if it's a strategic pivot or something more serious, but the lack of communication is definitely fueling the rumors. Hopefully, it's just a temporary lull and things will pick up soon, but the current atmosphere is making it tough to stay optimistic.

Interesting you bring this up. I've been hearing whispers too, mostly about budget tightening and a focus on core business areas. Performance numbers haven't been stellar across the board lately, so it wouldn't be entirely surprising if some departments are being restructured or scaled back. Management hasn't been very forthcoming with details, which naturally leads to speculation. Let's hope for some clarity soon.
