Another round of layoffs hitting KY – anyone else?

Just saw the official notification hit the system regarding the KY site. It’s always the same story—sudden, cold, and a total disruption to livelihoods. I’ve been with Home Depot for a while now, and seeing these cuts makes me feel like tenure means absolutely nothing anymore. They talk about 'restructuring' and 'efficiencies' like we’re just line items on a spreadsheet, but then they expect the remaining folks to pick up the slack without missing a beat. It’s incredibly draining to watch colleagues pack their desks while management sends out tone-deaf emails about store performance. If you are in the affected region, please make sure you grab any documentation or personal files before your access gets cut. Don't rely on them to be fair or helpful with your offboarding. It’s a harsh reality check for those of us still holding on. Good luck to everyone getting hit today; I hope you land on your feet somewhere that actually values you.

I am so sorry to hear this. It feels like the corporate culture at Home Depot has shifted completely toward chasing quarterly numbers at the expense of the people who actually built this company. I remember when we were treated like family, but now it’s all about these 'efficiency' metrics. Please take care of yourself during this transition and reach out if you need resources. You are definitely more than just a line item on their spreadsheet.

Honestly, the writing has been on the wall for a while now. They keep thinning out the teams and expecting the survivors to do the work of three people for the same pay. It’s brutal and unsustainable, but management doesn't care as long as the stock price looks good. At this point, I’m just waiting for my turn or finding a way out before the axe falls on my department. Hang in there and start updating your resume immediately.
