Yeah, I'm hearing the same thing in my store. It feels like the pressure's definitely on to cut costs everywhere. We're short-staffed in paint, and they keep pushing us to get the aisles reset faster than ever. Honestly, it's making it tough to even give customers good service. My manager's been pretty cagey about specifics, but the vibe is definitely uneasy. I'm trying to stay positive and just do my best, but it's hard not to worry when you see those other retail headlines.
I wouldn't jump to conclusions just yet. 'Efficiency' and 'streamlining' are buzzwords, sure, but they could mean a lot of things – maybe just better inventory management or optimizing delivery schedules. My department's been busy, but that's pretty normal for this time of year. Try to focus on what you can control, do your job well, and document any concerns you have. If something concrete comes out, at least you'll have a clear picture of where things stand. Don't let the rumor mill get you too worked up.
