Heard a rumor about appliance installers getting cut?

Okay, so this is purely hearsay, but I overheard a couple of the delivery guys talking about potential cuts to the appliance installation team. Apparently, they're exploring outsourcing some of the installation work to third-party contractors to 'reduce costs' or some BS like that. I don't work directly with those guys, but they're always slammed, and they do a solid job. Seems like a terrible move if true. Anyone else heard anything similar?

Yeah, I've heard rumblings too. My brother-in-law works in the plumbing department and he said they're feeling the pressure to cut costs across the board. Honestly, it wouldn't surprise me if they outsourced appliance install. Seems like that's the direction big companies are heading these days – squeeze every last penny. Hope those guys can find something else lined up if it happens.

Color me skeptical. While cost-cutting is always on the table, appliance installation is a pretty specialized service. You can't just trust any Tom, Dick, or Harry with hooking up gas lines and expensive refrigerators. If they use low-bid contractors, quality will plummet, and Home Depot will be facing a wave of angry customers. I'd take that rumor with a grain of salt until you see it in writing.
