Hiring freeze rumors? Anyone hear anything concrete?

So, I've been hearing whispers from a couple of ASMs and some senior associates about a potential hiring freeze. It's not official, obviously, but the lack of open positions being posted for internal transfers and the general slowdown in recruiting for new hires across various departments is starting to feel... deliberate. We've had a few people leave recently, and their roles haven't been backfilled. Usually, there's a push to get someone in quickly, but this time it's just crickets. Is anyone else in a similar boat? Have you noticed fewer job openings, or has your management team mentioned anything, even off the record? Trying to get a sense of the temperature before I start worrying too much, but it's hard not to when things feel this quiet on the hiring front.

I've also noticed the hiring slowdown. It's definitely more than just a seasonal dip. My store hasn't posted any new openings for a while, and usually, there's a consistent flow. The fact that positions aren't being backfilled after people leave is a big red flag. Makes you wonder what the long-term staffing plans are. Hoping it's just a temporary pause and not something more serious impacting the stores.

Yeah, the silence on new hires is deafening. My department used to have at least one or two new people starting every month, but it's been months since we've seen anyone fresh. It's putting a strain on the existing team, for sure. I'm trying to stay optimistic, but the lack of communication about it is concerning. Management usually explains these kinds of things, but it's all just speculation right now.
